Two Outta Three Ain’t Bad (But It’s Probably Smaller Than You’d Like)

Interesting series of posts on the GOOD blog detailing the whys and wherefores behind an inescapable truth about new construction:

We want so bad to believe that we can have it all—a cool design with lots of space, for not a lot of money. But we can’t have it all. Size, quality, low cost: we can only have two of the three.

So hard to make the right trade-offs, get the balance right.

The first first three posts (of four) are here: http://www.good.is/series/square-feat.

Visual Acoustics

Surely this documentary about legendary architectural photographer Julius Shulman will be coming to the Belcourt. I was bummed that the trailer on the website wouldn’t load, but then I found it on YouTube:

That’s Dustin Hoffman narrating, by the way.

Eichler Plans

You can’t buy an original Eichler in Nashville, but you can build yourself a brand-new one:

Photos

The “Additional Photos” links on the site are working MUCH better now — pulling in lots of photos for most listings. Other functionality improvements are on the way. Let me know what could work better or what features you’d like to see added to the site to make searching easier.

615MODERN on Facebook

Did you know you can now become a fan of 615MODERN on Facebook? It’s true.

Dry Spell

There’s been a real dearth of new modern listings lately. In fact, I believe it’s been over a month since I’ve had anything new to share. I am updating the existing listings, however, so even though it may look like anything has changed in a while, a few listings have dropped off and there have been some SERIOUS price reductions.

New Year, New Look

As you may have noticed, things look a little different around here. The biggest change: Home listings are now front and center. I’ve also moved the construction blog for 5706 Burgess over here and will be posting future updates and other original content from time to time. Speaking of which, if you have questions about buying, building, or remodeling a modern home in the Nashville area (or a burning desire to relate your buying/building/remodeling experiences), please drop me a line.
